Heart of the earth ripped apart
this senseless tectonic rage
skin ruptured bleeding
last breath lingers blends with the dust
under cruel rubble
with muted cries and lonely pain
hope endures and remains
eternal as the light dims
some life may yet spring
like flowers through the cracks.
Digging deep even with bare hands
as if to reach the heart of the earth
where love is hidden in molten fury and simply ask why!
